FW: Protest of Chalabi in Washington

WHAT: Peaceful Nonviolent Protest of Ahmed Chalabi in Washington, D.C.

WHERE: Outside the American Enterprise Institute, where Chalabi will be speaking on "An Insider's View: Democratic Politics at Work in Iraq."  Gather in front of 1150 Seventeenth Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. (near corner of M Street; closest Metro stop is Farragut North).

WHEN: 2-4 pm ET, Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005

WHY: Ahmed Abdel Hadi Chalabi was a source of many of the bogus claims used by the White House to sell the war.  He is visiting Washington, D.C., for a week beginning Tuesday evening, renting out six suites at the Ritz Carlton in Georgetown.  He has planned a private meeting at the White House with Vice President Dick Cheney.  He is visiting at a moment when leaders in the Senate and House have begun demanding a real investigation into the fraudulent case for war that he played a prominent role in concocting.

Chalabi Lied: 100,000 Died!

Subpoena Chalabi!

PARTICIPATING ORGANIZATIONS: Working Assets, UFPJ, Code Pink, DC Anti-War Network (DAWN), DC Poets Against the War, Progressive Democrats of America, Montgomery County Progressive Alliance and local Maryland DFA chapters, After Downing Street, and Democrats.com.

Those wishing to organize additional events during the week can protest outside the Ritz Carlton in Georgetown.  The Ritz Carlton is at the corner of K and Wisconsin.  (Bus from Foggy Bottom Metro Stop runs frequently and costs $1.  There's a park across K Street to gather in.)
